MARYLAND ARMY NATIONAL GUARD IS THE PRESENTING SPONSOR OF
BALTIMORE’S FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION
Visit their NASCAR and Minuteman Highly Mobile Multi Wheeled Vehicle Displays
Mayor Martin O’Malley and the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts announce that Maryland Army National Guard is the presenting sponsor of Baltimore’s Fourth of July Celebration. Visitors can explore two exciting displays provided by the Maryland Army National Guard from July 1-4 at McKeldin Square and Baltimore’s Visitor Center. The newest piece of recruiting equipment entitled the Minuteman Highly Mobile Multi Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) is featured at McKeldin Square located at Light and Pratt streets. This “tricked out” HMMWV features a full sound system, 36” monitor and a full X-Box gaming system. Are you a NASCAR fan? Car 16, the National Guard car, will be on display at the Visitor Center next to the Light Street Pavilion. This vehicle is the actual car driven by Greg Biffle during the 2005 season. At the display, visitors can receive a complimentary picture in front of Car 16 and hear the power of a NASCAR engine.
“The Maryland Army Recruiting Battalion is proud to bring these displays to the citizens of Maryland,” says Lieutenant Colonel Preston, battalion commander, Recruiting, Maryland Army National Guard. “We are at Baltimore’s Fourth of July Celebration to offer every citizen in the state of Maryland the opportunity to join the Maryland Army National Guard as well as stand with the citizens of this proud state to celebrate our nation’s independence.”
Baltimore’s Fourth of July Celebration presented by Maryland Army National Guard takes place on Tuesday, July 4 at the Inner Harbor. The day features a myriad of street performers from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Inner Harbor Amphitheater located at Light and Pratt streets.
