TEENAGE HEART PATIENT AND HEARTFEST COMMUNITY HONOREE BRADY VONTRAN TO JOIN HIS HEART SURGEON DR. DUKE CAMERON FOR A SPOTLIGHT MUSICAL PERFORMANCE
Join Heartfest 2008 Celebrity Honoree Dr. Stephen “Stevie V.” Valenti and his Heart Attackers, the energetic rock, soul, and swing band comprised of cardiologists, cardiac surgeons and other medical professionals, as they are honored for 10 years of keeping the beat going and feet dancing at Heartfest . The 18th Annual Heartfest , an evening of heart-healthy gourmet food, fun and education, will take place on Saturday, January 26, 7:30 p.m. to Midnight, at Martin’s West. Tickets for Heartfest 2008 are only $100. Proceeds will benefit The Johns Hopkins Ciccarone Preventive Cardiology Center (established in 1990 in memory of the legendary Johns Hopkins Lacrosse Coach Henry “Chic” Ciccarone). Dr. Valenti and his band will be joined by Heartfest 2008 Medical Honorees the internationally acclaimed cardiologist Eric J. Topol, M.D., Director of the Scripps Translational Science Institute and Chief Academic Officer for Scripps Health, and Peter O. Kwiterovich, Jr., M.D., Professor of Pediatrics and Medicine and cholesterol disorder specialist at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, along with Heartfest 2008 Community Honoree Brady Vontran, teenage heart patient and founder of Brady’s Heart Foundation. Heartfest guests will be treated to a special spotlight musical number by Vontran and the Heart Attacker’s Dr. Duke Cameron, the heart surgeon who performed Brady’s most recent surgery.
In honor of Coach Ciccarone’s legacy, Hopkins Blue Jays Lacrosse Coaches David Pietramala, Bill Dwan,
Bob Benson, Dave Allan, and seniors from the 2007 NCAA Championship Lacrosse Team will be honored with highlights of their championship game on the ballroom’s video screens. Also, Tim Rhode, co-founder of The Maryland Athletic Club & Wellness Center (The MAC), a significant 10-year financial supporter of the Ciccarone Center, will make a special presentation.

The evening’s hosts will be civic leaders Steve and Mindy Geppi. Mr. Geppi, president and chief executive officer of Diamond Comic Distributors, Inc., creator of the Geppi Entertainment Museum, and owner and publisher of Baltimore Magazine, along with with 10-year-old vocal talent Alexis Biesiada, will help kick off the evening’s entertainment portion as brave subjects of Stevie V. & The Heart Attackers’ Executive Talent Test. The talent test will feature performances by top Baltimore executives enabling them to share their musical talents, among them: Ron Peterson, president of

In addition, Geppi’s Entertainment Museum (GEM) will host a display about the museum that features a time machine of characters, toys and collectibles of our past and present.
